Forthcoming Festival
ANNUAL HOCKEY FESTIVAL – May 2010
The date is scheduled for the 8th and 9th May and the matches will be played on grass pitches. There will be Mens, Ladies and Mixed groups of 11 a side teams and depending on the number of entries , teams should get to play at least 2 matches a day. The entry fee will be £ 70 team, but if your entry is received and paid for before February 28th the fee will be £ 60. There will be the usual Saturday night Disco which will be held in a Sandown night Club at a cost of £ 8 per head( discounted if paid by 28th February ) . The Festival theme this year will be announced shortly .
Sandown Bay Holiday Camp is not taking any bookings this year, but we have found some accommodation at Wight City Holiday Accommodation ( see images below) , and are trying to source some more .
We will also be arranging fro Coaches to be available from Sandown to Newport at a cost of £ 2.50 per person each way. Seats musts be booked and paid for in advance,
so can you please indicate on the entry form if you wish to use this service.
Ferries can be arranged throught either Wightlink 0870 582 7744 - www.wightlink.co.uk or RedFunnel 0870 444 8898 – www.redfunnel.co.uk, although I wouldn’t book anything yet as prices and timetables change , and there are usually special offers on.
The theme for for this festival is a fun weekend of friendly hockey to finish off the season, so please get back to me if your team is interested and wishes to be put on the list. Call me or email asap. to book your entry. The committee can then start making plans for a good weekend in May.
Further information will be sent out later, but to secure your place please reply by February 28th 2010. Applications will be dealt with in order of receipt and subject to a deposit being received and discounted / full payment being made by 15 th March 2010. Take advantage of the full package of entry fee and 12 Disco tickets for a reduced rate provided that you pay in full in advance by 15th March.

Last Year's Festival
The 2009 Isle of Wight Hockey Festival was a great success with 36 teams and over 400 people visiting the Island. There was sunshine all weekend and the feedback from the event was very impressive, including a big thumbs up for the Saturday night entertainment at Colonel Bogeys nightclub in Sandown.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and we look forward to seeing you next year.
